for datasoure/ extract structure/setuptable/ LO extractor

hi:

now,I'm practicing best practice,but......

here ,i simplified the Scenarios for your understanding my doubt.

the Scenarios as following:

step1.Transferring Business Content DataSource as following:

Path -

Relevant DataSources

LO > LO-IO -

All DataSources

SD > SD-IO -

All DataSources

SD -

2LIS_11_VAITM

SD -

2LIS_11_VAHDR

step2.Logistics Extract Structures Customizing Cockpit:

Activing the Extract Structures MC11VA0ITM and MC11VA0HDR in "11: SD Sales BW" .

step3.Deleting the Contents of the Setup Table

step4.Performing the Setup - SD Sales Orders

-

my question is:

1. what's relation between the datasource and extract structures?

why the two Structures MC11VA0ITM and MC11VA0HDR demand so many datasources?, because i discovered that Extract Structure of 2LIS_11_VAITM is MC11VA0ITM through hiting rsa6, and Extract Structure of 2LIS_11_VAHDR is MC11VA0HDR,so i can not understand why the other DataSources such as LO-IO, SD-IO is reqired to Transfer?

2. what happen inside system when i clicked on the Extract Structures MC11VA0ITM to active it ?

I hope you could focus on the principle, and systematicly

and logically.

thanks a lot in advance.

Hi,

LO > LO-IO -

All DataSources

SD > SD-IO -

All DataSources

All of these data sources are used for Masre data loading.i.e Attributes , texts, hierrachies.

2LIS_11_VAITM

2LIS_11_VAHDR

These datasources are used to extract the Transaction data.

As a performance point, We have to load the Master data before starting transaction data. Thats why Best practices recommended transfering of all those LO-IO , SD-IO datasources.

Anil Kumar Sharma :

what you said is very clearly! thanks!

Is it right that LO extractor knows which datasources were required, fore example: in the extracor structure 2LIS_11_VAITM case,lo extractor automaticlly trasfer data from phisycal table to specific datasource(or extract structure???) in memory??

by the way : where are related detail infomation released by sap if i want to know the logic and mechanism

inside system, not to step or surface.could you give some thread???

<i>Is it right that LO extractor knows which datasources were required, fore example: in the extracor structure 2LIS_11_VAITM case,lo extractor automaticlly trasfer data from phisycal table to specific datasource(or extract structure???) in memory??</i>

Here you have to understand one point, i.e, Master data extraction and Transactiondata extraction are different.

For master dat uploading the datasources with suffix 'ATTR' , 'TEXT', 'HIER' are used.

For example :

For uploading Master data ( attributes) for 0MATERIAL

datasource 0MATERIAL_ATTR is used.

For uploading text data for 0MATERIAL

datasource 0MATERIAL_TEXT is used.

For uploading hierarchy data for 0MATERIAL

datasource 0MATERIAL_LKLS_HIER is used.

For uploading Sales order's item level information we use

2LIS_11_VAITM.

So you have to follow the steps as like below.

1)Transfer LO-IO,SD-IO datasources to avtive form (RSA5)

2)Replicate the datasources to BW.

3)Load master data using above datasources

4)Transfer 2LIS_11_VAITM ,2LIS_11_VAHDR datasources to avtive form (RSA5)

5) Activate the Extraction structure(LBWE)

6) Clear Row with application no 11 in LBWQ

7) Delete the content of setup table of Application 11, if there is any data in setup table (LBWG)

😎 Fill the setup tables (OLI7BW)

9) Execute the delta initalization

10) Define background job in LBWE to transfer data regularly from LBWQ to RSA7.

11) define infopackage to upload data on delta basis

<i>by the way : where are related detail infomation released by sap if i want to know the logic and mechanism

inside system, not to step or surface.could you give some thread???</i>

Hi Guixin,

Every datasource must contain one extract structure..This will give the available listing of fields when u replicate it to bw..

In LO case : suppose you are customizing some thing ..means moving some field from right side window to left side. But before that extractstructure will not contain this field..When you activate this one, then automatically extratcstructure will be created with this additional field..

Don't forget to assign points upto your satisfaction level...
