leading zeros

Hi All

we are loading data from flat file to BW with CSV file type, in that file we have one ZACCNO filed with value 012345 (we got this value in file) but after loading into BW ODS it's showing value 12345 (leading zeros are suppressed).

please some one tell me how it's happened and  No ALPHA conversation selected for Info Object ZACCNO in General TAB.

Please some one let me know what is the difference between CSV and ASCII file types in info package processing tab.

Thanks

Bhaskar

Bhaskar,

One more thing you need to check in Datasource/transfer rule is if there is a Alpha conversion check-box is checked or not checked.

Sometimes here leading zero's gets removed.

Hi,

Quick check:

First infoobject should be of type char and also check the length.

If its a keyfigure then for the obvious reasons leading zeros will be ignored as it doesn't make sense.

Also check  whether the 0 is prefixed in flat file or not properly.Make sure to store the value as text in excel file to preserve the leading zeros.

Hope it helps.

Hello,

Are you loading to characeristic or keyfigure infoobject, is it's a characteristic then try adding APLHA conversion if you are loading to KF then it's normal change to Char.

Hope it helps.
