question regarding min level field for each stock item and what else it may affect in sap.

hi.

i would like to use the min stock level on all of the stock items then run a query once a day to let me know whats running low.

i discussed this with another sap user who also uses the same database that i use.

and they are concerned if we start using the min max level feature on sap that it may affect other modules in sap business one. eg (the jornal, sales analysis .etc)

does using the min max stock level field affect any other sap modules whether its in a positive or negative way?

thanks

greg

Hi Greg,

Do you use MRP module in B1? If not, then you are no problem to use min stock level on all of the stock items and create any reports by this setting. Even if you use MRP module, you have to set up this too.

Thanks,

Gordon

Hi Greg M.....

Min. Inventory, Max Inventory, and Required Inventory Enter values for the minimum, maximum, and required inventory levels for each warehouse if necessary. These three columns only appear when you deselect the Manage Inventory by Warehouse check box.

If your inventory level in a certain warehouse falls below the Required (Purchase UoM) quantity you defined, in a purchase document, the application suggests a minimum quantity to fulfill the inventory level required.

If your inventory level in a certain warehouse falls below the Minimum quantity you defined, the application may blocks your sales transactions, or issues an alert, according to your definition for Response to Release/Receipt of Inventory Outside Defined Range in the Document Settings window.

If your inventory level in a certain warehouse exceeds the Maximum quantity you defined, the application may blocks your purchase transactions, or issues an alert, according to your definition for Response to Release/Receipt of Inventory Outside Defined Range in the Document Settings window.

The minimum and maximum inventory levels are defined in the Item Master Data window, on the Inventory Data tab. If you do not define a minimum inventory level for an item, SAP Business One treats the item as if its minimum inventory level were zero. If you do not define a maximum inventory level for an item, SAP Business One does not validate the maximum level on quantities of goods received.

Why don't you create a UDF and write a report based upon the udf..

Hope Helpful
