We are licensed user of the Crystal 2008 Designer.
I am trying to resolve an issue with Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010. I have installed the 64-bit "standard" and "runtime" using the link below:
Text Object fields, whether sourced by the database or static, are not wrapping and get truncated when the report is rendered by IE 8. The report exports successfully as the lines wrap (to PDF at least).
I've tried to set the compatibility modes (which improved all but this issue), and set the "Can Grow" attribute, including the number of lines to 0 and some value greater than 0, to no avail.
This is a show stopper for us as the reports cannot be adequately previewed.
I assume at this point given no Business Objects engineer has responded to Brian's post from 8/8/2012, which sounds identical, there is no resolution for this issue?
I called the number 800-677-7271 and I was informed by a Business Objects representative it would cost us $195 to open a case and perform a webex with an engineer. The representative also suggested I try the runtime for VS2008 - even if this worked, I am concerned about our upgrade path. Purchasing the Crystal Server is not an option for us due to the cost.
Lastly, he suggested posting here since "engineers frequently review this forum".
I have been developing custom solutions using the Crystal Reports .NET API for about 8 years now, but I am poised to migrate to Microsoft SQL Reporting Services.
If a Business Objects developer can suggest a workaround or confirm this is indeed a bug and whether it will be resolved in the next runtime release (VS2012?), it would be much appreciated.
Thanks very much,
