Add video content in an online item in SuccessFactors Learning

Hello everyone,

I am giving a training on SuccessFactors Learning module and I would like to know where I can find more details about how to add a video content to an online item in SuccessFactors Learning. I know that you have to embed the video in a HTML page, but I would like a more detailed explanation and if possible, where to do it in the system.
I searched in the Learning Academy and Google, and couldn't find an appropriate answer.
Thank you very much for you help.

Cordially,

Paulo

    Hi Paulo,

It is a multi step process to add videos to an Online Content in Learning Module. First you have to understand the concept of the content which can be broadly classified as.

    1. Communicating Content - (They will communicate with the Learning system and would be able to send statuses such as completion, score, bookmarking)
    2. Non - Communicating content.- Once you launch the content, it would not send any status back to Learning System.

For communicating content, there are few ISO standards that SuccessFactors Learning follows.
    1. AICC
    2. SCORM 1.2
    3. SCORM 2004 2nd Edition
    4. SCORM 2004 4th Edition

It would require some content developer who would be able to create content in any of these formats. One of the most popular content development tool is Articulate by Adobe or various others you can choose from.

For Non-Communicating content, could be any video file or a page which has the video file in it.

For importing a video in the Learning System, you can login as an admin and go to Content > Tools > Import Content.
From there you would be able to import the content. But please note that if you choose to directly import video, you would not be able to get a communicating content.

You can check this SAP Note which might be relevant for you.
