Understanding CM Workflow

Hi

Recently we have been trying to understand how publishing workflow works for SAP EP CM. There are workflow configuration to a limit like we can set the number of stages and the number of users per stage etc etc. We can configure the layout of notification display etc. But if we want to trigger and use workflow inforamtion at our custom defined CM layout/solutions it makes it very difficult. We are not able to get hook onto the Publishing worklfow APIs of SAP EP.

The main thing we were looking at were

1) Trigger the WF even from our custom layout (e.g. approve/reject/send notification/start workflow events)

2) Read the Work Items or notification items and present in custom layout and control the flow.

Please somebody throw some lights and give us leads to this. I think the APIs for WF are not available from SAP.

Did you have a look at the Netweaver Documentation?

In EP60SP2 a lot of KM APIs are not open, but if you are on a higher patch level than patch 5, they should be simular.
