Hi,

I am in a process of installing SAP in Failover Cluster environment.

OS - Windows 2008 R2

DB - Oracle 11g

I have done the following activities.

Installed oralce 11g software locally on both nodes

installed oracle patches on both nodes,

Installed failsafe 3.4.2 on both nodes

now started installing First MSCS node

It throws error while starting the cluster service

In the log i found the following error.

\\XXXXXXXX\sapmnt\XXX\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\sapcpe.EXE=>sapparam(2): fopenU("\\XXXprd1\sapmnt\XXX\SYS\profile\XXX_ASCS00_XXXXXX","r"): No such file or directory

please advice.

Thanks

Rabah

Hi Mohammad,

The error came when sapcpe was copying installable files to /sapmnt directory. This can be due to intermittend unavailability of /sapmnt. This has happened in my landscape quite often.

Just restart sapinst with "new" option and before that, make sure /sapmnt is mounted and accessible.

Hope this helps,

Hi, Ashutosh,

Thank you for your reply,

As this installation is on Cluster (High Availability), it has already created few services, and directory structure, if i run with NEW OPTION then what will happen to the service which has already been created.

please suggest.

Thanks.

Hi Mohammad,

Since you have not started with any installation, you can always use NEW option. Only thing is availability of the directory structure.

Thanks
