MDM ItemDetails - How to toggle the "Edit" Button

Using WDJ and  MDM ItemDetails configuration, I'm interested in the ability to toggle the "Edit" button based upon some other logic.  I see where you can hide tabs and fields from within the ItemDetails, but would like control over the buttons.  Also have a similar requirement to be able to hide/disable/etc... custom buttons that were created via the Custom Toolbar inside the MDM Configurator.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated ??

seems not possible,

you can make your own button, not a big deal.

I was thinking that might be the case.  Just didn't to overlook some capabilities.
