Upgrade and Landscape of System

Hello experts,

We have planned to upgrade our oracle database (from 10G to 12G) , OS (Unix -- Linux) and realize the Unicode conversion in BW system (7.0)

Could you please advice me the best architecture and landscap of system for do not impact the current developement and transport. and avoid the freez dev and transport.

Current landscap : BW DEV --- BW QAL ---- BW PROD

Hello Crossmen

Try to do everything what is possible during the online availability for the SAP BW System. There are a lot of activities which can be done, before the technical Upgrade takes part.

Furthermore the time were the SAP BW System is in downtime has to be short as possible, to the option to use for BW Systems is the "Single System" Upgrade. An Example for a simple Project Plan can be found here. There are Customers which kept the outage of the three System Landscape to a minimum. See some Examples.

Finally to say is that you cannot avoid a "freeze of development" and it is up to you to keep this to a minimum. More Informations about the SAP BW Upgrade
