Impacts of DataSources Activation/Replication on Data Targets or BI System:

Hi All,

I have activated a few DataSources say 1-3 by using transaction code: RSA5 in ECC system and after successful activation I have checked/viewed these DataSources by using transaction code: RSA6 in ECC system.

Next step, in BI system I have replicated all DataSources and then activated all and eventually, InfoCube was populated with data.

Dear experts/friends what kind of impact I will have on my BI System or Data Targets when I repeat above mentioned entire process for next DataSources say 4-6? Keeping in mind, the data being loaded several times a day.

I will appreciate your prompt assistance in this matter.

Regards!

Tariq,

If you are replicating 4-6 for the first time, then there won't be any implact on model. However IF these DS's are already being loaded and running deltas, you need to check transformation, DTP's only to make sure there are active and won't affect data loads.

Thanks,

Hi,

If data sources 4-6 , first time you are replicating to BI , it will not have impact on other data sources & data loading activity.

If these data sources( 4-6 )  are present in BI are being used for data uploading to target , you have to take care of transformation , it would become intactive .
