Hi Sahil,
You means external access to your ERP system I guess.
THen I suggest to install a SAP Web Dispatcher into DMZ and give access only to WEBGUI service in the backend.
INTERNET | DMZ <Web Dispatcher> | INTRANET <ERP System>
Check the Web Dispatcher documentation how to install, configure and limit access to specific services in backend via http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73ehp1/helpdata/en/48/8fe37933114e6fe10000000a421937/content.htm

Hi,
Then you've 2 options:
1. The one I explained in my first reply: Using SAP Web Dispatcher to secure the access.
2. Opening the ERP sytem directly to internet by mapping the Real-IP with the Internal ERP IP over Firewall. For this, you also have to assign a subdomain to this Real-IP like erp.company.com
You don't have any other option except creating native applications on iPad and calling SAP functions via web services.
Hi,
Please check the Wiki page for installation and configuration
http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Basis/Installation+of+SAP+Web+Dispatcher+and+SSL+Setup
Install it on a seperate server in DMZ to secure access to your intranet.
You need kernel DVD and INstallation Master to install SAP Web Dispatcher.
Hi Sahil,
SAP SOlution Manager is totally a different SAP product like your ERP System. So it's purpose is not to do a reverse proxy for an existing system.
But, if you refer to the server of SAP SOlution Manager, yes that server can be used as a Web Dispatcher Server. You've to install Web Dispatcher on it as a seperate component and then link it to your backend system.
If you downloaded the WEB Dispatcher's SAR file, you can extract and proceed without Installation Master.
Follow the steps of Shrikant M in post http://scn.sap.com/thread/3168604
