Proc chain auto delete of overlapping requests not working.

I have added the process to delete overlapping requests of full data loads to a cube, in a process chain. The previous packages are not being deleted when the process chain executes. The process chain messages indicate 'no requests for deletion were found'.

However when I run the same info-pkge with the same criteria independently, the previous loads are deleted.

Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Thanks for your time and assistance.

Hi Dennis,

Doies your process chain have both the Load step and the delete step separately. It will work only with that case. In the Infopackage -> Data Targets tab -> There is a button with a tool tip "Do not delete". Click on it and select your choice for deletion. Now include your infopackage in the Process Type "Delete Overlapping request".

Hope it works.

Hi Dennis,

The best way to dropping OVERLAPPING requests is using the INFOPACKAGE itself. I have implemented this is a couple of scenarios. You have the ability of using ABAP routine too in regards to this.

Adjacent to the DATATARGET in the INFOPACKAGE you have the option of dropping overlapping requests. You can include this infopackage in the process chain and everything should be taken care off.

I think this is the efficient way of going about this.

GPK.

Praveen:

The process chain includes the info-package load with the selected settings for request deletetion as follows:

Delete Existing Requests:

Options:

Infosource are the same.

Data source are the same.

Sourcce Systems are the same.

Selections Are:

Same or more comprehensive.

When I execute the chain no requests matching deletion criteria are found. However when I run the same info-package stand alone, it finds the requests and performs the deletion as expected.

I do not know why the process chain does not recognize the requests to be deleted but the info-package by itself does.

Stumped.

Thanks

Denny

Hi Dennis,

Use the process: Delete Overlapping Requests from InfoCube in your process chain.

Hope this helps...

Thanks. It is now working.

My error was I had the delete process before the update from PSA. Once I placed the update from PSA before the delete process it worked.

Thanks for your assistance.
