Data over Tabs

Iam exploring the possibilties with the data that could be accessed by all the tabs of the role in Portal.

How can i store the data that an iview fires that cud be accessed by an iview on a different page of a different workset?

How could i store something that i cud make it available to other resources on the portal?

Cache API?? Portal Services???Any code examples?
