product hierarchy

hello plz can any body let me know how to activte and load data for this product hirechy and see the data in the report as hirerachy according the hierarchy level in r/3 in the reporting . we r using prodh1 2 3 when i tried to see these feilds in info objects i cant find them i have tried to activate the bussiness conent objects also i see they r already active but i dont see them in info objects . dont we see them .i have assigned the datasource for prod_hier and loaded data . i have assigned the 0MATERIAL_LPRH_HIER to 0material and loaded data i can see that hire is assigned to omaterial in the info object but when i maintain 0material master data i dont see the hier but i can see only prod_hier data . when i try to see in the reporting . i dont see the hier for prod_hier but there are values for it . so how can i see the data 0prodh1 ,0prodh2,0prodh3 in the reportsin plz look forward to your replays . thanks

Hi Monica,

You won't be able to see the Hierarchy Information in maintain Master data screen. That is only for attributes and texts. Just double click on the Hierarchy under the InfoObject to see the Hier tree.

In the Query, in the properties of 0MATERIAL, you have to select the Hiearchy and drill down infomation to display hierarchy in the reports.

hi sree

that is what i was looking for . the problem is solved . i have two issues here

1. if i want to break the hierarchy ie.prod_hier into different levels . prodh1 prodh2 prodh3. ie product hierarchy contains 18 charsters right i want to split 18 charcters into 6 charcters each as 1st level and other 6 chars second next six chars as 3 level how can it be done .

2. how to do the merchandise category hier . i have activated and assigned the datasource 0MATERIAL_LKLS_HIER to 0material and uploaded the data i can see the hireachy under info object 0material but i dont see the data in hirachy in the reports . i see hireachy is assigned to 0class_num under 0material when it is expanded but in the transfer rules of 0materialthere is 0 class_num do we need to add this feild in transfer rules for 0 material . in the reporting i have selcted same as product hireachy product hierachy works but merchandise category does not work why ?

Hi Monica,

1. Are you loading Hier from R/3? if yes, I don't think you will be able to do much manipulations like what you are looking for. If you want your BW Hierarchy look different than R£, then you have to Generate a Hiearchy flat file and load Hier thru that.

2. In the InfoPackage to load Hiearchy, you can Select the Hierarchy that need to be loaded. Check, if the Hierarchy you are looking at is loaded or not. If not loaded, load it from appropriate source and then check it.

thanks for replay .

1. i am loading from r/3 product hireachy . its ok for now .

2. MC i have loaded appropriate hireachy only ie.

Retailing System Article Structure:-Tech.name 026

datasource was (0MATERIAL_LKLS_HIER)

what is feild for mechandise category . my problem is data is avalible in hireachy under 0material info object i can see the data but it is not avalible in reporting . in query designer . i selct material right click properties select 026 hireachy and active and see in the report it doesnt show material in hireachy format why? can u replay waiting for ur repaly thankyou does

Hi Monica,

I haven't used this object before. So I don't have idea abt the details of the fields used etc..

What exactly you see in the report. Material column is diplayed flat without any Hierarchy markers for expanding?

You can do following checks to see why u r not getting the hier in reports.

1> Check if 'Active' flag is checked in the display hierarchy or not.

2> Check if your hiearchy is activated or not.

3> Your cubes using aggregates? then you have to run Hier/Attrubute change run to activate and re-align hier.

If you can not see business content after activiation, do the following (ref SAP note: 573421):

To eliminate the inconsistencies described above, execute the RSDG_IOBC_REORG function module in transaction SE37 (F8 -> single test) with the following parameters:

Function module: RSDG_IOBC_REORG

Import parameter: Value

I_OBJVERS: A

I_PROGRESS

I_IOBJTP: *

I_ALL_IOBJ: X

I_T_IOBJNM: 0 entries

I_BYPASS_BUFFER

F8 -> Execute
