Missing PR

Former Member

Hi Gurus,

Good day. I would like to ask for your help regarding a missing PR.

There was a jump in the PRs created. This is the sample of what happened:

PR numbers:

100001

100002

100004

100005

PR 100003 is missing. The PRs were created via MRP Run. How is this possible?

Thank you

Check if the PR is existing in EBAN table or not.

If it is not existing, then this is a possible case of Number Range Buffering which the system takes a certain number ranges from the following:

Transaction SNUM > BANF (object) > Click Change > No. of numbers in buffer, in this field you will have an entry (most probably 10).

Each time the system creates a document through automated processes it takes a set of number of ranges from the object, and uses them to assign them in the process. If there are any breaks say dump errors or batch jobs cancelled then the buffered number ranges will be lost. So there really is no way of controlling this skip. This happens a lot in some cases.

Check the following Note for some more info:

Note 62077 - Info: Internal number assignment is not continuous

Hi Gurus,

The MRP run does not have anything to do with this?

Thank you for all the response

No MRP has no control over this, buffering can happen even while creating normal PR's or PO's manually. The system may skip them with no reason, so you cannot judge how this buffering may occur.

Hi All, the PR is not existing in ME53N, ME5A and EBAN table

Its an obvious case of MM Number Range buffering.

Then it all says that no such document has been created and a problem buffering has caused it...

On looking at first site , it seems that someone else created it in b/w the MRP run.

Could you check whether PR 100003 is created or not. You can check it with any option provided above. (EBAN, ME53N etc.)

Check in ME5A Tcode weather PR 100003. If exists also check for the MRP controller in the PR.

If MRP controller is not there then its manually created.

Thanks,
