Role Assignment iView is no working

Hello All,

I am working on EP6 SP9.

The Roles Assignment iView under the User Administration tab/Role gives an error as

" <b>Internet Explorer cannot open the internet site http://sapnw7:50000/irj/portal.

Operation aborted.</b> "

But on the other hand this iView is opened when access from:

1> Portal server directly.

2> Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP -> Admin Interfaces -> Admin iView Templates -> Role Assignment <i>(iView)</i>.

My team was under this impression that we are getting this error due to some problem in the browser (IE) but since we have discovered 2 different ways by which this iView can be accessed on a machine with the same browser, our reason above becomes invalid.

<b>Please help me understand the reason why the Role Assignemt iView does not open from the User Adminsitration tab.</b>
