Workflow Agent Determination

Hi,

We have a requirement to send WF to different approvers of same department. We already have a WF working using roles but this only is applicable for a specific department… we need it to be as flexible as possible in order for other departments to use it. Using Org Structure is not applicable in our case.

We came upon a possible solution using Rules but we just want to get additional info from others who have the same scenario.

Are Rules the best approach for our scenario?

Thank you for all the support being extended.

Cheers,

Chris

    Hello Chris ,

i have faced similar situations many times so i thought of helping you..

in such cases ,you can create particular Org Unit ,positions through PPOME transaction .after creating that org unit and particular postions , you just assign users under that in those positions .

Then through PFAC_CHG you just have to assign those users under that rule.

i think this will help you .

the transactions basically are PPOME (CHANGE ORG UNIT ) ; PFAC_CHG(Change rule ) .

    Hi

Go for responsibility rules. This is very easy and you do not have to do coding for it. You can add all HR org unit to the resposnibilities.

    Thanks

Yes, you should use rules if you can't use the org structure. Create the rule in your development box and link it to the required task. Then, use transaction OOCU_RESP to maintain actual responsibility assignment in different clients and systems.
