multiple org variations

i just started with my new company a few weeks ago. we are evaluation sap/sf versus workday. we had our workday demo yesterday. one item that stood out was the ability to have multiple active orgs in teh ssytem. so you can have one org for performance management approvals, a completely separate org for comp approvals etc. is there anything equivalent in sap/sf?

Hi Howard,

From a SuccessFactors perspective the organization structure is more basic than in SAP (position reporting only), so from that perspective there isn't.

SAP has different structures (Staff Assignment, Reporting Structure), but nothing much more than that. As Stephen points out, you can use different relationships to "build" additional structures. By using evaluation paths and report RHSTRU00 you can view (in a very basic way) the structures that you build.

I'm not sure how it looks in Workday, but SAP does fulfill part of the requirement.

Best regards,

Luke

Howard,

In SAP there is only one "organisational structure" but you can use the variety of standard (or create custom) relationships for different purposes. So you could have a different relationship to support "who signs off my expenses" to "who approves my leave".

Also some thought should be given to whether you want to maintain this variety of relationships or build logic rules that use existing relationships (e.g. perhaps expenses have to up the organisational tree until the first manager position of grade x or above).

Hope that helps,

Stephen
