Hi Experts,

I have characteristics Version, Value type, Valuation view, record type and main material group defined in the field catalog using tcode KEA5. I need to derive value for these characteristics during COPA line item postings. Can anybody explain me how to populate values for these char during actual postings and also during planning.

Thanks,

Anand

Hi Experts,

I see the characteristics version, record type available in fixed characteristics. Also plan/actual indicator and valuation available in techincal fields of fixed characterisitics. Do I need to create a derivation rule for these fixed characteristics or how is the version /plan indicator/valuation/record type are populated.

What are all the ways CO PA line item posting happens. Is it using tcode KE21n to manually post the line item. if yes, I see record type, valuation view field on the screen. I think these two will be pouplated from screen we dont need to derive it, is that correct?

How about plan/actual indicator how actual posting gets value '0' and plan data gets value '1'. Is it something based on versions the plan/actual indicator is determined.

In SPRO ->Controlling->Profitability Analysis-> Planning-> Maintain Versions

Here I see for version '0' Plan and Actual are active. For Version '1' only Plan is active. Will this help in deriving the Plan/Actual indicator? If yes, how it works.

Finally the version field, how is this populate I think when sales and profit plan is done the version field is populated at planning level. its a mandatory field over there so while creating plan data it needs to be populated, is that correct?. For actuals does the version default to '0'? how does this happens.

If it transferred automatically from billing document how are these characteristics populated Version, Value type, Valuation view, record type and main material group.

Thanks,

Anand.
