Idoc queue Processing - SAP ERP and SAP PI Side

Hi my dear colleges,

I would like share one situation, please check the image below:

I have this situation of thousands and thousand of IDOCS (around 20 different Message types) from SAP ECC x GLOBAL and GLOBAL X SAP ECC will be triggered, sync and async scenario I'm talking about many systems around world.

So to control the sequence of IDOC in SAP ECC side, we are going for "QUEUE Processing plus RULES", but I think it's not enough and if something stuck the queue will be really mass situation.

I would like ask some suggestions about this scenario from SAP ECC and from SAP PI/PO side (I know that middleware layer should not be responsible for such, but share your thoughts).

SAP PI/PO side - Maybe Idoc Packaging ? EOIO queues with Content Based ? Content Based with Grouping per number, partner number, message type ?

That is a very broad question and really depends on your requirements per interface because it is doubtful they will all be the same. When using EOIO i would suggest using the unique identifier for the object you are sending as the queue, so any failed messages do no hold other records unrelated to that object.

Hi Dan,

Yes its, I understand your point but requirement basically is controle de idoc processing and sequence of those files for IN/OUT scenario.

I will do some test case and put what approach more than just "Queue processing plus rules" and let you know.
