Unable to see folders and objects in LCM after BO 4.0 SP04

Hi everyone,

I experience an issue with BO Life Cycle Management after I upgraded the systems to BO 4.0 SP4. I didn't experience the issue when the system was on the previous version of BO 4.0.The issue I experience seems to be similar to OSS node 1272957, but the node relates to another BO version (XI 3.1).

When creation or editing a LCMBIAR or CMS based job I am unable to add the majority of object types since they are not displayed in the "add objects" popup. The following categories aren't displayed in the "add objects" tree: all folders, categories, projects, universes, connections, qaaws, calendars, access levels, business views, users, users groups, user group hierarchy, profiles.

I log onto CMC as the administrator, and have deleted and recreated the systems in LCM. Are there files on the tomcat server that need to be configured in order to see the folders and objects in LCM? Any idea how this issue can be resolved?

Please help me.

Kind regards,

Connor Dijst.

As part of installation BO 4.0 SP04 promotion management replaces LCM, additional view and select right are delivered and not set for the administrator. We are therefore unable to see the folders and objects in promotion management. To resolve the issue go to CMC > Applications > Promotion Management > right click user security > select administrator, click assign security button > click add / remove rights button, expand "application" node, select "promotion management" node, on right side of screen update the "view and select" rights.

Hi Connor,

this is a strange behaviour and should be fixed a long time ago.

I would suggest to open a OSS Message with the SAP Support to have an Enginer looking into this.

Seeing something not is typically a permission issue within BI4. But when you use the Administrator for logging into the Systems within the LCM you should see everything!

Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for the suggestion. I have contacted SAP support and the issue seems to be identified and captured in SAP note 1733795, "Clicking Favorite Folders and Inboxes do not display objects in LCM Promotion Management in FP03 and SP04". The note has not been released yet, but might explain how to resolve the issue I am currently experiencing.

Regards,

Connor.
