Hi Srini,
From the screen shot above I think you want to overwrite date type C2.
In your Dynamic Action what is the functional character.. If it is 04 then change it to 06 and check.
If this is not the case then let us wait for other experts.
Thanks

Hi,
Looking at your screenshot, it appears you are not maintaining history for IT0041. I see the start date and end date as 1/1/1800 and 12/31/9999. If you do not maintain history and try to record a different date for an existing date type, it will error out. I'd think you need to change the time constraint for IT0041 in table/view V_T582A so that you can have multiple records and the latest record can then have the latest dates for a date type.
Hope this helps.
Donnie
Time Constraint "A" is maintained and the definition of it is hardcoded in Dynamic action (01.01.1800 to 31.12.9999) so requirement may not accommodates if i change the TC.
So please suggest me any further hints, but "Date type C2 already exists" error should eliminated.
System should allow Date Type C2 (DAR12) and should modify the date (DAT12) as per the recent action's begin date.
Please extend your valuable support.
Srini.
Hello Srini,
As per your screen shot, it clearly states "C2 - Non US most recent Hire date", i could think from business perspective that when ever the employee moves in to Non US states (by following the naming convension) you are maintaining this date specification.
Simple Scenario: When the employee moves in to Non US country first time, you maintain this date (you maintained it either through DA or through manual that is not important now), so when the employee goes back to his home country and comes back to Non US country second time. you need to maintain (are maintaining) the C2 date as a latest date, Business requirement is to see the latest non us hire date, so user has to delete the first entry and maintain the new entry here, as the date specification clearly says it is Most Recent hire date.
With my analysis you are not suggested to change the time constraint (what your client says is correct) or the Existing dynamic action. However, i am thinking, this must have been mentioned in the Business Process Procedues as how to handle this situations. If there is no BPP in place yet, you may create in such a way.
Hope it explains well to your situation. if you have further queries you may come back.
Warm Regards!
-Kanuku
Thanks Kanuku,
Explanation is precised and on target.
So i can suggest the user to delete the previous info with C2 date type and maintain the new entry manually whenever the employee goes back to his home country and comes back to Non US country second time. In deed i tried the same and was able to proceed to further infotypes while executing the action however not sure whether i can just the same to business.
BPP is unavailable and nobody aware of it so please confirm me that i can suggest the above to Business, so i'll move accordingly.
Awaiting your confirmation. Srini.
Rewarding the support.
Hi Srini,
You already maintain the sub type C2 ,that is the reason the system does not allow to take a new record.

Siva
