Dimension as mandatory fields

Just a quick question- can dimensions be made mandatory in SAP 8.82 PL6P?

Administration -->System Initialization -->General Settings -->Cost Accounting

Distribution Rule

If you select:

• Without Warning, SAP Business One release the posting without warning
• Block Posting, SAP Business One prevents releasing the posting with an error message...

Hi Kennedy,

I think after you make them mandatory on the setup you describe you have to go to Chart of Accounts and select the Distribution Rule tick boxes.

The setup in the General Settings is only the first step.

As mentioned by the other users, it can also be via a SP.

Hi MB,

It can be done with the SBO_SP_TransactionNotification stored procedure.

In this procedure you can write sql code to check that valid dimension values were entered, and any other such rules as well.

You need to follow Kennedy's instruction then step 2 is to select the tick box in the COA.
