HI all,

I want to change the Alternate unit of measure of material but im unable to change it..

I have maintained in Base unit of measure as "EA" and ordering unit as "KG"

in Additional data..unit of measure..i have given

1EA  - 1EA

1KG -  280 EA.....i have saved.

When i want to change the alternate unit 280 ea to 200 ea..system is taking "1 ea" and throwing the message as "

Alternative units of measure have been checked and corrected".

NO matter how hard i try to rep;lace the same unit of measure i.e 280 ea back..system is not acpeting and taking only "1ea" n throwing the above error.

its very urgent.pls help

Can you provide your screen shots, first show screen shot in display mode of the Additional Data --> unit of measure. Then follow by your steps of changing or data entry.

I hope you did not have BAPI or user exit implemented.

There is an OSS Note with the exact error message:

Note 60015 - The alternative units of measure are not consistent

There are some errors that can be cleared by manual changes of some settings but some needs Notes implementation. If you do not have access then ask your BASIS team to implement this with the latest correction available as mentioned in the Note.

Pls try 0.005 KG to 1 EA. This is the same conversion as what you required.

Do you have the below setting in SPRO --> SAP Netweaver --> General Settings --> Check Units of measurement

The drop down selection could be MASS. Then click on Units of measurement.

I tried it on mmr - alternate unit, it is working.

Can you clarify on where you are changing the alternate unit of measure, can you include the steps? This is to assess if error is data issue (mmr) or transactional issue (PO, PR, etc)?

Do you have an Ordering Unit in Purchasing Info Record in ME12? Or in Contracts? If so remove that and try this.

Hi,

If its giving the same error goto SE38 and run the program MMREO050 in test mode and Consider material without delition flag give your material number

After running this program system issues a  report in that your able to see the open items with material clear all open items like reservations, inforecords, purchase orders, delete all the existing

After doing all these your able to change the order unit

Hi Promod, Its not th order unit...The issue is about the conversion i.e Qty... Explaing the issue again.. I have a material...whose Base unit of measure is EA. in additional data Alt Unit of measure is ..i.e 1st line 1EA = 1EA n in 2nd line 1KG = 200 EA. Now i want that material to be extended for purchase view and sales view. Lets take only purchase view. When i use tcode MM01 or MM02 i will give Order unit as KG as Base unit of Measure is EA. then i will press enter but the system doesnot allow me top save instead it gives me a message as " Alt unit of measure is inconsistant" and i am unable to save. When i go n look into Additional data tab...the alt unit of measure which was 1KG = 200EA gets changed to 1KG=1EA. I tried by changing the Alt unit of measure..it is working fine with other unit of measure..but the issue is only with KG  n EA. Even if i select only basic data view n directly go to Additional data tab i can see 1kg = 200 EA..but as soon as i click main data tab or back arrow the Alt unit of measure 1KG = 200EA becomes 1KG = 1EA.. donot know what to do..pls guide..

you may go to the prod / proportion tab and change the plan value for the corresponding characterisitic. system will calculate and maintain the conversion automatically

Hi,

In material master remove alternative unit and In additional data of the material master delete the conversion.

maintain ones again and try.

Hi Ashish, I am unable to delete..system is not allowing me to delete...and even if place one more line with alternate unit of measure..sys is not allowing me...giving same message

Hi,

Don't try to delete directly. First remove alternative unit from the purchasing view and then try to delete in additional data.
