Hi,
In order to improve our current Broadcasted WorkBook delivery we would like to trigger the broadcast sending immediately at the end of data loading. Can anybody help with the step by step process on how to schedule the wookbook broadcast to send the data whenever there is a change in data and also trigger them by using process chains. How to parallelize via process chains?
Thanks in Advance!!!
Regards,
Lavanya.

Hi Aravind,
We’re currently facing some issues when Broadcasting our existing Workbooks using latest version of the pre-calculation service.
1. Some of the WBs working well with new servers (example where WB refresh is working well)
2. And some of them are not refreshing properly.
Could you please help me to understand what is causing some WB not properly refresh ? Is it due to some specifics variables settings ?
This is causing us Critical issue with High Impact for our Business.
Regards,
Lavanya.

Hi Arvind,
Some Workbooks are not getting broadcasted correctly.
When woorkbook refreshed from server it is not updating the period field with latest date, it still shows the same old date.
But when it is refreshed manually locally it it updating the period field with correct date.

Lavanya.
Hi Aravind,
Any idea on the above mentioned issue? Its really casuing an issues while broadcasting. Your help would be much appreciated.
After having performed a deep dive analysis and monitored in details what is going on the pre-calculation server I noticed the following:
Communication between SAP server and pre-calculation server is ok. When manually triggering one of the WB (from broadcasting web console) the pre-calculation server instance is properly starting on the Windows server and Excel is starting and is able to open the WB. Yet once the service try to refresh the data the WB is immediately closed and sent to users without any data refresh.
Then when looking at the details log on the precalc server from C:\WINDOWS\Temp\BW\Analyzer\Traces\BExPrecalcLog.txt I detected the following issue (below in red) during precalcultation: (full logs are in attached file)
VMWW2790_2:10/23/2012 4:40:35 AM.911 (0) -> Opening workbook: C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\BW\Analyzer\Workbooks\SAPBEXPRECGT6U1894XXADJWYATDQKA0184_0.xls

VMWW2790_2:10/23/2012 4:40:40 AM.598 (0) -> Refresh sapbexp.xla!SAPBEXrefresh returned with 1.
VMWW2790_2:10/23/2012 4:40:40 AM.692 (0) -> Calculated workbook closed.
VMWW2790_2:10/23/2012 4:40:40 AM.801 (2) -> Calling Auto -- close
VMWW2790_2:10/23/2012 4:40:40 AM.801 (2) -> auto_close start
For the second WB I did the same testing without applying any recommendation and problem is the same than first during precalculation: (same issue in the logs)
(Y250-FP) PTD Casefill Pet | WORKBOOK_1XN97UMZPVK09U5OAKLNZWE86.XLS |
And also the version we are using is Windows Server 2003, Excel 2007, SAP GUI 7.20, Latest pre-calculation service
