Hello All,
I am new to SAP XI.
i would appreciate if you please help me understand the starting point of SAP XI so that i can start working on the same.
i have read notes on help pages, but i am still confused.
Please guide me.

SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI) enables you to implement cross-system processes. It enables you to connect systems from different vendors (non-SAP and SAP) in different versions and implemented in different programming languages (Java, ABAP, and so on) to each other.Its a part of Netweaver Stack.
And for all doubts there is a Forum for XI
