Document distribution – Internal & External User

hi All,

During document distribution through CVI7, I entered the SAP User & an external user E-mailID for recipient list. But, the Originals don’t seem to get displayed when clicked on the attachment in SBWP for (Internal user). It opens up an IE page and no information is displayed. The path specified in the IE address bar is - the GATEWAY HOST mentioned in SAPFTP RFC in SM59 & some additional value.. Nor is it getting distributed to external user (Yahoo / gmail ID).

Please let me know if I am missing any config settings.

could you please explain which distribution types you are using for the document distribution?

Dear Christoph,

PFA screenshot for the 'Distribution Types' configured in the system. When I double click on 'Communication Type' in IMG for Distribution Type, am I supposed to maintain any values for HTTP Destination, Path or such?.

The Distribution point in CVI8 is given as 'US - User' & Distribution Types - INT for External address & RML for User. Moreover, the 'Off' checkbox in CVI8 states as below from Help:

If this indicator is not set, documents are sent to the default communication address that is maintained for the distribution type.

Does it mean the document is supposed to goto the AOL, GMAIL Or Yahoo address mentioned in 'Recipient Name' column or the communication email mentioned for the user in SU01?

Hi again,

and thanks for the screenshot. Personally I would recommend you to use the distribution types 'INT' or 'RML'.

Due to my experience using INT type will send out e-mail to the recipients which will than be received in their inbox of GMAIL or Outlook. If you use RML type than the user will receive a message in its inbox in transaction SBWP.

Thank you for your swift response. I will have to check the INT - gmail when I get access to gmail.

However, there's still a part that seemed to remain unanswered as in my Original post:
