    HI KATRICE HAWKINS,

    please use swl_substitution_define.

If you maintain someone as a substitute of other user, then he/she can access the workitem of other user. substitute user id also get the workitem which other user have in her /his inbox.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi,

If you maintain substitute there, then your substitute user id also get the workitem which you have in your inbox.

there are 2 types of substitute. Active and Passive.

If you maintain Active substitute then automatically your substitute will get the workitem.

If you maintain Passive substitute then the substitute user has to adopt your workitem.

    Hello Katrice ,

i would like to help you once again and try to help you workflow substitution

today also i got an issue where the user is telling that she has a workflow in her inbox and it was supposed to go to her Manager.

When i gone to the workflow log of that user ,i found that both the user and her manager's name is written as agent in that step. i was surprised and thought what could be the issue.

then i checked in one table which is used to check the substitution maintained for any user.the table is HRUS_D2 and here you can enter any user's name and find out the substitute name if any.

and to my surprise, the user was maintained as her substitute of her manager and so only she was having workflow in her inbox and that too in reserved state.

i hope this kind of issue helps in understanding meaning of workflow substitution.

i hope my answer is helpful for you .

Just to complement, take a look at function group RHW2 and you will see the function modules that you could use when manage substitutions programmatically.

    RH_SUBSTITUTES_ACTIVATE

    RH_SUBSTITUTES_GET

    RH_SUBSTITUTES_LIST

    RH_SUBSTITUTES_LIST_OLD

    RH_SUBSTITUTION_ACTIVATE

    RH_SUBSTITUTION_CUT

    RH_SUBSTITUTION_DELETE

    RH_SUBSTITUTION_MAINTAIN

    RH_SUBSTITUTION_SELECT

    RH_SUBSTITUTION_SELECT_OLD

    RH_WF_SUBS_MAINT

    RH_WF_SUBS_MAINT_EVENTS
