Understanding MANAGER->ROLEOWNER->SECURITY path ???

25 Views

Dear All,

I have opened this discussion just to understand what is the exact purpose of having "Role Owner" in a single path where in, a request is routed in the below manner:

MANAGER->ROLE OWNER->SECURITY

As we have this understanding that, "only" a role "needs" to be added in a request if it needs to go to Role Owner. As we know, if we add a "system" and "Role" in the same request as line items, then it throws error like:

no agent found, cancelling path GRAC_DEFAULT_PATH (in stage no 02-GRAC_ROLEOWNER)

How we can restrict user not to include "systems" in a request? Also, what is the exact purpose we are achieving with this?

In my understanding, generally a user who creates a request, adds both of them at the same time. May I know what it needs to be separated in case of having only one path?

My understanding is quite contaminated on this and would like to clarify with all of you. Please help me understand the exact purpose of this and how to justify in business terms.

Regards,

Faisal
