Agentry communication error 14

Hi,

We are using SMP 3 SP 12 for custom agentry applications

While trying to access custom application deployed on server through agentry wpf client - Agentry_70.12.5_ClientDotNET, (which I got for SP 12) we are getting below error

Requesting Public Key from Server Communications error (14) Connection failed Ending transmission

We've already installed the required certificate and when I execute the application url from browser, its showing the required message "i am here"

Actually I've installed SMP 3 SP 03 on my laptop and the application is working fine if accessed through Agentry Client for Win32 and Agentry_7.0.0.537_ClientDotNET

What could be the error ?

    I would recommend using the latest available WPF client which as of this post is SDK SP14 PL02.

    An Error 14 indicates the client is not able to connect to the server for some reason (server down, DNS resolution issue, proxy, etc).

    Nilesh,

    Error 14 means your client cannot see the server. Your logs will be empty on this transmit. It is also possible that your SMP server may not be compatible with your Agentry client so you need to make sure that the timestamp on the release of the server (SMP 3.0 server) is not too huge compared to the release of the Agentry client SMP 3.0 SDK. Example: If your SMP Runtime 3.0 server was released on June 2014 while you are using an SDK released on September 2016 (2 years difference) that could be an issue too. Golden rule of thumb not more than 3 months (my own golden rule) difference.

    Hi,

    Thanks for reply. I re installed the WPF client (Agentry_70.12.5_ClientDotNET) and now got different error

    Middleware server serial number is required for mobile user

    Nilesh,

    I still recommend upgrading to the latest WPF client to get the current fixes (SDK SP14 PL02). The SDK version and server version numbers are not in sync as the SDK releases more frequently than the server.

    Specifically regarding your error, I believe this is a result of a known issue with SMP3 SP12 where the server.serialNumber is not returning a value currently. A fix for this is in process and anticipated to be released with SMP3 SP12 PL02.

    In the meantime you can adjust your code to check for a blank return and populate a hard coded value (the server was returning SMP as the serial number previously) or drop back to SP11 until the patch is released.

    Hi Bill,

    I tried this option as well

    However, while installing agentry WPF client, its automatically installing MS dotnet framework 4.6.1

    After that, I got the installation completed message (for framework and client)

    However, if I run it, nothing happens

    Hi,

    Actually, we are using Honeywell CN51 mobile device - OS Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5. For this, we cant go beyond Dotnet framework 3.5

    Can we still use SMP SP 14 agentry WPF client (we are using multiple agentry applications on SMP)?

    The WPF client is only for true Windows devices (Windows 7/8/10). For that device you should be using the WinCE client.

    Hi Bill,

    I tried this using SP 14 client as well. its still showing the same error

    Are we facing this issue with SP 12 only?

    Shall we install previous version (SP10 or 11) and check?

    If you are using WinCE clients you may need to adjust what encryption options are used. I believe the defaults were changed to more secure settings which are not support on WinCE devices.
