Can the New G/L DSO 0FIGL_O10 be removed from Bi 7.0 Modelling ?

Hi experts,

I was just thinking, that can we remove the New G/L DSO 0FIGL_O10 from BI 7.0 Modelling, and directly load our New G/L cube from the datasource 0FI_GL_10, like we do for other D/S 0FI_GL_12 ?

And also I would like to know, why do we have to load the GL records into a DSO ?

I have heard from an FI consultant that, In FI you never the change the documents which are already posted. You have to post another document to get previous balance adjusted, if required. As a result you will be getting only newly created documents in Delta. Hence, it can be uploaded directly into the info cube, even after the considering the fact that the D/S gets all After Images (AIED).

May be I would be wrong about some of the facts, but please excuse as its just a thought of mind. I would really appreciate your expert comments.

You yourself answered your query as cube works on addition and every new document as after image will not over write but add in cube and hence wrong results.

Thanks for replying.

The New documents must add in the cube not overwrite, as they are new records not changed.

That is why the question arise to me, if the old documents are nvr changed, then it means we will be getting only new documents from the D/S. Hence they can be directly loaded into the cube and the DSO can be removed ..... am I right when I imply this ?

You can change documents in FI thats a wrong info that you cant.

And based on timestamp and change date and recordmode you will get a change document with after image in extractor (same doc number)
