Stopping decentral Adapter Engine separately from central AE?

Hi,

I'm on XI 3.0 SP 20 and I'd like to install a decentral AE. The already existing central AE is supposed to handle synchronous messages whereas the decentral AE should handle asynchronous messages.

The goal is to get the opportunity to start / stop both of the AE independently from each other if for whatever reason on or the other engine got stuck.

1. Is it possible to handle the engines differently without affecting the other?

2. Does this solution still work when the installtion of the decentral AE is on the same Integration Server?

Thanks for your answers.

Regards,

Ralph

Hi,

for XI 3.0 if you stop central AE (so main PI instance) - decentral will also stop working

as XI 3.0 uses ABAP stack of the main instance to process messages so I'd say it cannot be done

if I understand the requirement correctly,

Hi Michal,

thanks for your reply in the speed of light. But what happens vice versa, just stopping the decentral AE?

Thanks,

Ralph

Hi,

decencetral AE stop will not stop the main instance (should not at least)
