installing 7.2 IDM error Encrypt password Encrypting password failed - error code: 6

Hi Experts

I installed IDM 7.2 using MSSQL 2008. The database scripts were installed in a named instance

After installing the designtime & runtime SP5 and at the point where I have to configure the JDBC String URL and click Finish, I got this error message

Encrypt password

Encrypting password failed - error code: 6

Checked in the logs of the database, no logs entry was available

I've searched for this error message but I couldn't find any thing related to this. Would appreciate your help and ideas

Athena,

1. Verify that you have created an initial encryption key via MMC (see SAP documentation). Check the content of the Keys.ini file.
2. If the key exists, try installing Microsoft DebugView on the same machine where MMC runs, and re-execute your tasks with an active DebugView capture. It will produce a very detailed trace of everything that happens in the IC Designtime. Check if you find further hints in this trace.
3. You said you have named MSSQL instance. Named instances don't listen on the standard TCP port 1433 by default, but use a dynamic port lookup mechanism. Check whether this is related to your problem. Configure a static TCP port for the named instance if required.

Did you manage to correct the issue? We are having the same problem, however we managed to create the configuration with one OS user, but another user cannot do it at all.
