Duet Enterprise 2.0 documentation available - upgrading from 1.0?

Hi,

I am trying to port 4 services from Duet Enterprise 1.0 to 2.0.  Is there some documentation available for this besides, "How To... Create Services Using the OData Channel"?  Also, the 4 services are on a different system from the 2.0 system, so the code needs to be moved somehow from the 1.0 to the 2.0 system.  I am getting help from John Berry from Foursquare (4sqd.com), but am asking in case there is additional information out there.  I would prefer to upgrade my 1.0 solution first before I create a completely new one using OData.

Thanks,

Andy Goerdel

Hi Andy,

are you participating in the ramp-up as a customer or as a partner?

Since Duet Enterprise 2.0 is not yet general available there is not much public information available. However, as part of the ramp-up you should have access to documentation and also experts who can help/guide you.

Holger.

Hi Holger,

We are part of the ramp up.  I do have some experts, but we have not yet connected and I am trying to get started in understanding what I need to do - OData vs. updated version of existing RFC-based solution.  I did get an FP1 manual and John Berry indicated that the FP1 procedures are the same as 2.0 for RFC-based solutions.  I am also trying to figure out which system alias to use as I do not know which t-code shows this mapping and it was set up by our Basis person who is unavailable.

Thanks,

Hi Andy,

you are right, that with FP1 the procedures on the SAP side are (almost) the same as with Duet Enterprise 2.0 -- as long as you are using the new ODC and SOAP Bridge approach that was introduced with Duet Enterprise 1.0 FP1 Service Pack 3 and NetWeaver Gateway 2.0 SP5.

If you are using the Generic channel, then the generation is different from what you can do in Duet Enterprise 2.0. (then you are probably not yet using the Service Builder)

If you go to (well, this depends a little on the Service pack you are on) SPRO -> SAP Customizing Implementation Guide -> SAP NetWeaver -> Gateway -> Former Development -> Generic Channel -> Connection Settings -> SAP NetWeaver Gateway to SAP System -> Manage SAP System Aliases

you should be able to access the System alias mapping.

Hi Holger,

Yup, there is no mapping as of yet for my needs, so I will get help from Basis for that .

Thanks,

Andy
