Transaction type for Knowledge Articles?

I am building custom roles for my CRM solution and I have given my role Create/Generate, Change, and Display authorizations for Transaction Types KNAR and KNAT, but when I go to the Knowledge Articles section of the Web UI and click on "NEW" there is nothing for me to choose. Is there another Transaction Type for Knowledge Articles?
