Production confirmation timing

Hi,

I would like to seek advice on the following discrete production order  confirmation process.

We would like to do the goods receipt (MB31) before confirming operations time and doing goods issue (CO11N).  Is that doable?  Can we trigger automatically the production variances and settlement afterward or it can only be done initially when saving the GR on the FG.

Regarding you queries,

Yes it can be doable provided you do not use auto GR control key in routing, MB31 is allowed before confirmation.

Can we trigger automatically the production variances and settlement afterward or it can only be done initially when saving the GR on the FG.

Production variance will get calculated after posting GR.

Calculation takes place moment you do all goods posting including goods issue and GR.

You can do variance calculation and settlement later to close the order.

--> Yes. We can post GR through MB31 ahead of the Confirmation entries.

Can we trigger automatically the production variances and settlement afterward or it can only be done initially when saving the GR on the FG.

--> Generally, the Variances and Settlements are carried out after the goods movements and confirmation entries.
