User defined field on a row won't update

i just upgraded from 2007A to 8.8.2 PL04. I had a user defined field on the line of the production order ROW for a comment field but after upgrading, the values i type in do not save. If i use SQL and change the value of the UDF it will save, but when i try to change the udf on the production order it just keeps the value that was there (blank or otherwise updated). Any ideas? (DFs on the header or master data update just fine.)

PS i can't update them further at this time.
