Working with Compounding infobjects in BEx

The customer wants to be able to drill down on infoobject LOCATION (Madrid etc)

without the SUBDIVISION on Location(A111 etc). SUBDIVISION is a compounding object of LOCATION.

I will try to explain with an (dummy) example:

Current situation:

Country Location Headcount

SP A111/Madrid 10

SP A112/Barcelona 20

SP A114/Madrid 4

Requested situation:

Country Location Headcount

SP Madrid 14

SP Barcelona 20

Is it possible to summarize the data on LOCATION without SUBDIVISION in BEX?Or do we have to add a new characteristic with a different key having only LOCATION?

Hi,

SUBDIVISION is compounding object of LOCATION..So if you drag and drop LOCATION in BEX then SUBDIVISION also come..but here You can remove the SUBDIVISION ...

Hello Pradeep,

I can remove the infoobject SUBDIVISION but i still have LOCATION with the values A111/Madrid etc.I only want "Madrid" to be displayed under LOCATION.

Donot remove SUBDIVISION.

Keep it in the query..

Right click on SUBDIVISION> Properties> Display--> No Display.

This should do it
