How to activate all the standard dependent Info-objects after Compounding the source system in the main Info-Objects

0 Kudos

Dear All,

We are planning to compound source system in all the standard masterdata info-objects , while doing that we are facing lot of dependency problem.

Could you suggest us how to activate the main infoobject automatically by doing the changes automatically on dependent objects & activate the main object.

Thanks & Regards,

Kiran Manyam

Hi Kiran,

Unfortunately, there is no automated solution available. Compounding of InfoObjects should be decided upon in an early stage. Changes later on will cause a lot of dependencies and difficulties.

My advise is to challenge the statement to introduce this compounding for all InfoObjects. I can imagine you might want to activate this for the corporate InfoObjects but I can hardly imagine that this is necessary / useful for all InfoObjects.

Best regards,

Sander

Hi Sander,

Thanks for your reply,we want only corporate info-objects .

As dependency is  more in standard Info-objects could we copy the standard info-objects into ZInfoobjects & planning to use them in the targets. So could you please suggest me is there any problem with this approach in future.

Thanks & Regards,

Kiran

Hi Kiran,

I don't see any problem with the suggested approach. On the contrary: I'm very much in favour of defining your own InfoObjects. Moreover, I'm even advising to introduce more than one set of InfoObjects, to facilitate the different purposes InfoObjects have to deal with.

Please have a look at my blogs related to this topic:

I suggest to introduce the following sets of InfoObjects;

  • Data Warehouse InfoObjects (e.g. namespace 'D');
  • Reporting InfoObjects (e.g. namespace 'R');
  • Corporate InfoObjects (e.g. namespace 'C').

Best regards,

Sander
