I have been working as an ABAP developer with 2+ yrs of Experience. I have an exposure to MM , HR  and little bit of FI  with regards to SAP Objects (Reports , Forms,Enhancement and Workflow) i got to develop in these modules.

I am willing to do a SAP Certification , so would like to know which certification would be useful and beneficial at my level?

I know this question has been asked in this forum but i am bit confused as some say go for SAP ABAP and others say merely SAP - ABAP wont be beneficial

Also there were 2 levels per certification so which one should i aim for?

  • Associate level certification
  • Professional level certification

Also if possible provide with links where one could for certification.

Thanks in Advance!

Your core skills is ABAP, you should get it certified.

For 2+ years Professional Level Certification is NOT recommended.

Hi Sakshi,

I did not get what you mean by "which paper". Please note certification is not everything. It is only a credential. Sometimes it may be a cushion, but cannot guarantee any growth in your career.

Please go through the following blog:

Hi Ravi,

I very well understand the limitations and have gone through your blog before posting this query. With 'paper' i mean the 'name of Certification paper' as there are many available in market, once i got a mailer regarding SAP Certification paper to select from and it came in 2 variation :

  • Associate level certification
  • Professional level certification

Hi Sakshi,

Thanks for your clarification.

As explained above

For 2+ years Professional Level Certification is NOT recommended.

With 2+ years of experience, you can go with Associate Examination. In India, you have some validation, they would allow if you have around 5 to 8 years of experience to write a professional level examination. Though this rule does not applicable in other countries.

Meanwhile, you may please search the available certifications at:

Certification

Professional Certification goes beyond basic concepts, it will mostly test the high level understanding in number of complex situations, which may usually requires around 10 years of sound knowledge in SAP.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Kind Regards,

Ravi

Hi Sakshi,

Basically, these three exams are more or less the same, however, the difference is in its version.

If you look at the syllabus of the three exams, they tests from TAW10 or TAW12

https://training.sap.com/gb/en/certification/c_taw12_71-sap-certified-development-associate-abap-wit...

I would advise you go with C_TAW12_71, as this is the latest examination.

However, at the end of the day, it is your choice and comfort with the topics in the certification examination.

Best Regards,

Ravi

Personally, I would be happy with the easy one rather than going for risky tough certification. You should also consider the money element that involved. Therefore, please look for the certification that you are comfortable.
