Formula in BO Explorer

Hi Gurus,

I have a  unx-universe on top of a cube in BW.

In BO explorer we need to create a formula/Mesure very simply like this F=(A/B)-(C/B), but in BO explorer is only possible to use 2 measure in order to develop a formula, with this limitation my first idea was create 2 subformulas Sub1= A/B; Sub2= C/B, unfortunatly when tried create a formula F=Sub1- Sub2 in the information space is not possible to choose a previous formula created (Sub1 or Sub 2)  to develop

We cannot pre-calculated the value in the universe because included a division so the measure will be erroneous

Any suggestion or idea?

Thanks in Advance

Christian,

Another option to consider since the calculation has to be done after the results.  You can create the report in WebI > Create the Calculation > Save to Excel > Create Explorer from Excel.   All this can automated using scheduler.

Another possible option until SP5 is ready.

Christian,

the only option you have is to do something at Universe level. I can tell you that I'm pretty sure Calculated measured created from Calculated measures will not be a feature of SP05, at least in the latest build that I tested which is pretty much code complete at this time. If anything this may be in SP06 (no guarantee at this time) released possibly towards the end of first half of 2013.

George,

Do you know a workaround to solve this issue?

I have any more idea what to do in the universe to fix it, because the value needs to be calculated in running time according to the displayed dimension analysis or it will be wrong

Can you ask your Basis if this calculation can be done in BW directly?

Christian,

You will have wait for SP5 for BI4, it is supposed to have further enhanced Explorer.  I was told by someone from SAP that SP5 should allow more complex formulas in Explorer.
