Hi all,

is it possible to see why certain quantity was created in Purchase requisition created by MRP in case of none customer stock scenario?

Thank in advance,

It is based on your settings made in material master and the stock/requirements situation.

Check in MD04

no no, I've checked all theoretical points already: material master, bom, reservations etc...

BOM has a change history and there are no changes for last several months, i was also not able to find any similar reservations. Purchase order quantity was created was 2000 pcs, while actual requirements are for 5 pcs... So i'm trying to find a root cause...

What about posting screen shots of your MRP1 view and MD04 overview? you can blacken the material description and plant name (not the number, this is needed to very that both screenshots correspond to each other)

do you have any restrictions in place controlling that the buyer cannot create an order for more than the PR quantity?

Intresting scenario, a purchase requisition of 5 for no reason which is then converted to a PO with 2000.

Are you sure the PR was created from MRP?

no, its 2000 in Purchase requisition from the beginning

sorry for not answering fully:

1) no restrictions

2)

3) I've checked P.req. and requisitioner field's value is Control comp, so i guess its MRP, else, it would be user's name.

so you had actually a requirement for 5 despite of saying that there was not change for several months?

And MRP created a PR for 2000,... what are the values maintained in MRP views?

true: also one finding, there are same situation for 3 different components, which are all form BOM for higher level assembly. And for all those 3, same quantity as 2000 pcs in the same Purchase order (Purchase requisitions are different).

MRP view's settings are standard; SU12 MRP profile, PE, EX, no Safety stock, no rounding values...

What do you want me to say with PE ?

if that is your MRP type, then I dont know it, and it is not among the predefined MRP types

sorry, its the same as PD, but w/Total cons as forecast.

(I didn't know that its not part of standard list).

Check if your lot size EX in OMI4 transaction is still customized as EX or if the paramters got changed there.

ME53N item detail contact tab shows you how it was created:

Table EBAN has the creation indicator in field ESTKZ

checked, and no change logs.

thanks, didn't know that field. That field has "B" value which is for MRP, so, it was done by MRP...

check the MRP list in MD05 for this material, maybe you can find there the origin. as the list is static from the time of MRP run, you can see the stock / requirments stituation at planning run time and as well the MRP settings of that time

here it is. Exception messag is saying "15: Postpone process (22.10.2012/18.10.2012)     "

This is MD04, it is just telling you that the PO was rescheduled because of a shipping notification.

Further I can see that you have a reservations  that would make the available quantity negative if the order was not there, so I can assume that those reservations actually triggert MRP to plant that material.

So it is still not possible to say why it planned 2000.

What values had you seen in OMI4 for EX lot size? I only have a S and E in the top 2 fields

In MD04, you should be able to see what the requirements are and for how much quanities was the PR generated.
