Related to Unicode

I need to prepare a document that collates all the steps a developer needs to ponder upon, to make an object Unicode Enabled while moving it from a non-unicode system. I request you all to help me out with this.

Are there any Object specific steps ( Interfaces, RFCs etc) other than the Generic Steps?
