Internal order settlement - need to change COPA characteristic

HI All,

We settle internal orders to COPA. Period 1 and 2 settlements have been done.

One of the COPA characteristics in the settlement rule needs to the changed retrospectively for the settled periods.

Tried reversing the settlements and adding a new rule with the new characteristic. Problem is that SAP will not allow the new rule to start at period 1 and gives the error 

'You can only reset the "Valid to" period as far back as 002 2013' (which is the period and fiscal year of the last settlemnt)

So, this means I can fix it going forward but I still have wrong data in P1 and P2,

I can enter COPA line items using KE21N to reverse the entries and re-enter them - I want to avoid this if possible as it can be time-consuming and error-prone.

Any ideas?

Try with enhancement COPA0001. See SAP Note 124813 - Enhancement COPA0001: Documentation for further information.
