Hello
From a real time scenario perspective how to model a BI project based on data mining concepts?
I am looking exactly as how to model the project based on data mining?

Hi Krishna,
Regarding modeling the BI Project according to data mining concept, if you are assuming that there is a separate technique to model the project, it's wrong. Data mining is a processing engine which process your data and return some business decisions/rules based on data mining algos. However, you need to model your query according to data mining technique which you are going to adopt e.g. association, clustering model etc. In order to design query only business expert can help you who have proper knowledge of business and particular data mining technique.
Hi shakeel
Please clarify this.
There are sap owned data mining concepts like decision trees , clustering , association analysis ,abc classification etc.
My question is do we apply the above techniques in the APD tool ?
If so how? If not then how is it done.
Like wise being a BI consultant what we can achieve using APD tool.
I hope my statements are clear.

Hi,

No, these are general data mining concepts and almost every vender provides these engines.

Yes
If so how? If not then how is it done.
Normally the model which we chose for data mining, requires data in specfic layout as input and we don't have much flexibility in Bex query so we have to use APD tools and then this model is feeded as input to data mining model.
Like wise being a BI consultant what we can achieve using APD tool.
we can model our data according to data mining model.
Export data outside bw
In case of complex data modeling we can use query as input and ouptput data can be stored again in DSO.
there may be other scenarios but i used it in these cases.
Regards,
Shakeel
