Subcontracting PO Based on RM / BOM Stock Availability

Dear SAP Gurus,

We are new to SAP, and we are in the process of implementing SAP ECC 6.0 in our organisation.

We are facing one problem in Subcontracting PO creation.

After MRP run, for subcontracting items planned order was generating based on the Pld Order we can able to convert to PR.

From PR to PO conversion or Plnd Order to PR conversion we need one check point, Whether the RM or the BOM qty available only the Subcontracting PR or PO need to generate.

For Example

Material number : 7000018 - 25 Nos required for SFG.

Material number : 7000018 is subcontracting material

For Material number : 7000018 is BOM Raw material : Ms Rod 63 Dia : 2500 mm

Here we need, IF 7000018 is required 25 nos but Ms Rod 63 Dia : 2500 mm ( bom ) is available means PR / PO need to generate, If Ms Rod 63 Dia : 2500 mm is not available PR / PO unable to generate. If Ms Rod 63 Dia : 2000 mm is available means PR / PO need to generate for 20 nos.

Hope everybody can understand the above scenario.

Dear Sasikumar,

Is the BOM component/item that is the MS Rod is defined as a stock item or else as a variable item?

Based on the requirement for the sub-contracted product( 7000018) and it's base quantity defined the

system will plan for the MS Rod.If there is sufficient stock for the MS Rod,then the system will not

create a PR during the MRP run.

Check and come back with your queries.

Here if ms rod is available means system will not raise pr for ms rod. if ms rod is not available means system will raise the pr for ms rod,Ok

The ultimate requirement is 7000018 is required for one SFG.  7000018 stock is not available, so system checks for subsequent raw material as ms rod 63, ms rod 63 also stock not available. So system generates the pr / po for ms rod 63 as well as 7000018.

Here we need, first system checks the 7000018 stock, stock is not available then system checks the ms rod stock, stock is not available.  So system generates the pr / po for ms rod 63 dia.  After procuring ( material inward stock ) only system will allow to raise the PR/PO for 7000018.
