Project Settlement

There are a large number of closed projects that do not have a settlement rule appearing as errors in the project settlement logs.  There are no costs posted to these projects, is there a way to exclude these records from the settlement process without having to enter a settlement rule.

Hi Robyn,

Sara has almost given you the answer. Just to put it in simple words,

In BS42 define a status selection profile for the status SETC (Settlement Rule created), do not check the "Not Active" box. Now, when you run CJ8G enter the variant that you currently use, click the Status selection profile icon and input the profile that you just created.

This will ensure that the projects that have the SETC status will only be considered in the settlement run. Try it and let us know if it helps.

Hi Gokul,

I tried to implement the solution suggested by you (as I too have this issue, but not too critical) and I faced some issues.

Basically, while creating status selection profile in BS42, it had asked for status profile, I have entered the same (I believe, this is same as WBS status profile) and saved it. But, when I tried to run CJ8G, as suggested by you, I couldn't find  Status selection profile icon on the same CJ8G screen, I have selected the variant, and checked in MENU, but still couldn't find it. Can you please let me know, where I can find the same.

While creating a new variant or change variant in CJ8G screen, you will find the status icon and select the new status profile which is created through BS42.

IN CJ8G, enter the variant you use and edit it. When you are in the edit screen you will see an icon for the status selection profile. Input the profile you created using BS42 and then execute. It should work,

Hi Robyn

You need to define a status selection profile in cutomizing to include/exclude the status value. Then you need to create a variant settlement execution and assign it to your status selection profile.

Dear Robyn,

For settlement you have to check reports like: CJI3 for Actual Cost

CJI5 for Commitment, MBBS for project Stock all these report should be Zero. than you are able to close the projects.

Settlement is done for actual cost occurred in Project/WBS, Actual Cost should be transferred to related receiver like WBS, Cost Center, Asset etc.

As per your requirement you dont have any cost on project than their is no need to settle, you can only check pending Commitment if any.

than TECO and closed.
