Hello,
We are using SAP MM to receive Stores inventory. I have been asked to explore the option of using hand held computers running Windows Mobile so that our Shipping/Receiving employees can scan barcodes when performing various job functions. Here are my questions:
1.) Is it possible to install a SAP client on a Windows Mobile device to allow users to sign in to SAP from these devices?
2.) If so, are there special transactions that have been or can be developed to work on the smaller screens?
3.) If a SAP client can not be installed, what approach should we take to utilize this type of mobile technology?
I have read information about various "Third Party" products that may provide this type of functionality, but was wondering if the option was available to accomplish this with in SAP itself.
Thanks for any replies that come in!
Hi Rick,
This is called as Mobile Data Entry in SAP.
You can use Radio Frequency Identification Devices to interface into SAP. The LE-MOB module in SAP is specifically designed to meet this need. But I am not really sure if this can be implemented for MM but a lot of companies are already using for Logistics Execution.
1. Yes that is possible, have a look into the below link:

2. The special transactions depends on which flows you need to configure, you ca have your SAP transactions interfaced into the RF devices in such a way that all activities can be carried out in the device itself. Some companies go in for additional implementation in order to meet their needs.
3. SAP Client can be installed in the Mobile Device.
