Hi Ramesh,

I configured the agent on SAT system Quality and I adjusted the Solution Manager in Solution_Manager transaction. I can see the system on RZ21 for "Auto Reaction Assign" and on Solution_Manger.

Now, I noticed my SAT system is sending the emails by itself, informing about the events. Is it correct?

Doesn't the emails have be sent from Solution Manager?

Thank you again.

Hi Denis,

I think you are little bit confused, if your SAT system sending mails by itself, then what is the use of solution manager? If anything happens to your SAT system, then who will sent alert? That means your mail should trigger from solman (CEN).

Please go through below link sure it will help you.

Hello Denis, If you are using solution manager 7.1 you have to setup technical monitoring for setup notifications like old ccms.

You can check information on http://service.sap.com/rkt-solman -> solution manager 7.1 -> Technical Operations -> technical monitoring.

Once technical monitoring setup is done you have to go to MAI Monitoring and Alerting Infrastructure

Luis

Hello Luis,

  Thank you for your reply.

Does this method works like a central of alerts from Production, Quality and Development?

Solution Manager     7.0 EHP 1.

Kernel                      701

Basis Component   SAPKB70108

ST                            400 SAPKITL437

yes but you will have to upgrade your solution manager to 7.1, that operation is not available on 7.01.

on rkt-solan, you can get an overview:

Hi Luis,

I'm planning to upgrade the Solution Manager to 7.1.

By the way, do you have a link or a reference explain it?

Thank you again.

To explain the Upgrade ?

Before to think on a upgrade, do you have to remember that if your actually functionality of Solution Manager is only to approve downloads or generate stacks SAP recommend that you do a new solman installation.

At Seidor, we have to make an upgrade because we have a huge landscape infrastructure connected to our solution manager, a lot of support ,message, and more solution manger functionality setup and running; for that we have to go to upgrade direction.

what use do you have on your solution manager ?

Luis

After the Solution Manager installation for consultants, they didn't implement the main functions on SolMan (like Service Desk, Central Monitoring Alert, etc).

Now, I'm searching more about and implementing it.

My firsts steps are to implement the Service Desk and Central Monitoring Alert sending emails when a new alert appear.

Thank you for your fast response.

Hello Denis,

Given you have already configured SCOT to send outgoing mails from your Solution Manager system, all you need to do is configure method CCMS_OnAlert_Email (you can also copy this to create your own) to specify your destination mail address and then assigning this method to specific MTEs you want to be alerted upon. Check this link -

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/2c/abb2e7ff6311d194c000a0c93033f7/content.htm

You can also check tutorials under marketplace/rkt-solman for your solman version.

Hi Samik,

   Thank you for your response.

If i want to send emails about alerts from Production, Quality and Development systems, is the same procedure?

I want to central the sender alerts on Solution Manager.

Hello Denis,

Yes you can centrally manage alerting for you entire landscape. Goto RZ21in Solution Manager --> Goto Technical Infrastructure from Menu -->Configure Central system --> Assign Central Auto Reaction.

Here you can choose the system SID, MTE and the Auto Reaction Method. I think you need to Distribute Assignments at the end.

Thanks,

Hello Samik,

I'm applying this steps and another question...

How can i insert the systems on column "System ID" at the RZ21?

Thank you in advance.

Hello Denis,

One of the prerequisites for this step involves connecting your managed/monitored system to your Solman system CEN.

The monitored components with SAP Basis are linked with CEN using the CCMS agent  The agent must have a release status of at least version 6.10.

You can determine the version of the CCMS agent by calling it with the option -v (such as: sapccm4x -v)

For your Solman version check this link -

Hi Samik,

I noticed which we have a test system sid listed on column "System SID" and the others systems aren't there.

I executed the command sapccm4x -v on that system test and another system, but the out is the same.

Hi Samik,

    I found the path...

I accessed the SMSY, accessed the menu Landscape Components -> Product Systems -> SAP ERP -> SID -> SAP ECC Server. So, I created a RFC for system monitoring.

Now, I can see the SID on column on RZ21.

Thank you.

Hi Denis,

Thanks for your feedback. Yes you can create RFC for monitoring, but recommended is to set this through agent installation. If you want Java stack included, you have to do it anyway.

Thanks,

Samik

Hi Samik,

  Thank you for your reply.

I downloaded the CCMSAgent and extrated on /usr/sap/ccms.

Now, I'm a little confused. Do i need to install this agent on Solution Manager? Or, Do I need to install this agent on our systems which we want to monitor?

Thank you in advance.

Denis
