Info structure/planning hierarchy content

If I want to be able to carry out all functions such as RCCP and transferring to demand management with my info structure, should I include the standard SOP key figures and is it better to set it as level-by-level rather than consistent?

Dear,

Yes you can do RCCP for self define info structure go to MC35 here you have option to select the self define info structure and then in in MC94 you can use same for capacity planning as per the key figures defined.

Hi James,

Yes i think you can go for both methods like consistent & level by level planning.

SOP Set Parameters for Info Structures and Key figures :-

after creating the information structure would be to set the flexible planning related configuration parameters for the structure.  The transaction code to set these parameters is MC7F

1.In Consistent planning the data is consistently maintained between the planning level (planning hierarchy), i.e. any change in data at any one level is automatically disaggregated or aggregated to all the other levels, this defines the consistency in key figure data between the levels.

2.In level by level planning method, the plan is prepared for each level; the disaggregation or aggregation of key figures values from one level to the other level is triggered out manually. Therefore it would not be wrong to say that the data at each level in a planning table (information structure) can be changed without affecting data at other levels.

In level by level planning when disaggregation is done, the key figure data lying at the lower most level will get overwritten by the disaggregated data from the higher levels and vice-versa.

Pls check below steps :-

1) Create Info structure MC21

2) Maintain Planning Parameters MC7F

3) Create Planning Type MC8A

4) Create Flexible Planning MC93

5) Copy to active version MC8V

6) Transfer to Demand management

5) Create Std SOP Planning -MC

6) Transfer to DM from change mode of Flex Plann with active version MC94

if you want use the flexible planning info like SIS in std sop after the 4th step of above it will be like

5) MC87 std sop there Sales data from SIS it will ask for info str and version then you can get it automatically then the std steps like

6) Copy to Active Version MC78

7) Transfer to Demand Mangement MC74

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I think I already had a grasp of the details you included, but what I am trying to avoid is transferring data to standard SOP and then to DM.

I would like to create an info structure that I can use to: create a production plan based on target days supply, carry out RCCP, and then transfer to DM all without copying any data into S076.

I believe I can, but have never done so and want to find out if others have.
